Zakkum
Zakkum is a Turkish alternative rock band, formerly known as Raindog, founded in Ankara in 1999 and known for its melancholic rock sound. Made up of vocalist-guitarist Yusuf Demirkol, drummer Cem Senyucel, guitarist Eren Parlakgumus and bassist Emre Yilmazturk, the band first made a name for itself in Ankara's nightlife scene playing covers of Placebo, Radiohead and The Cure. They found their own sound with their 2007 debut album "Zehr-i Zakkum," and drew further attention with a duet alongside Teoman. With hits such as "Anason" and "Hatiran Yeter," Zakkum has become one of the established names on the Turkish alternative rock scene.
