Özcan Deniz is a Turkish singer, songwriter, actor, screenwriter and director who has become one of Turkey's most recognized and versatile artists through his achievements in both music and film/television since the 1990s. Born in Ankara in 1972 to a Kurdish family from Ağrı, he spent his childhood in Aydın after his family relocated there, where he formed amateur theater groups and discovered his musical talent, later moving to Istanbul and then Germany to focus on music after winning first place at a local singing festival. He returned to Turkey in 1992 to release his debut album and had his real breakthrough with the 1993 album "Meleğim," reaching wide audiences with arabesque-fantezi-pop songs like "Dön Desem" and "Canım." He entered acting in 1997 with the series "Yalan mı?," but it was the legendary series "Asmalı Konak" that truly left its mark on Turkish television history; he has also directed and starred in commercially successful films like "Ya Sonra" and "Evim Sensin," and married Iranian fashion designer Samar Dadgar in 2023.
