Öner Karaçuha
Öner Karaçuha is a notable drummer, composer and producer on Turkey's contemporary jazz scene, best known for the group he founded, Öner Karaçuha Quartet, which performs at major festivals and releases studio projects. Born in 1983 in Kars, he first studied Statistics at university, entering music informally by playing drums in rock and heavy metal bands, before earning a scholarship to the Drum Certificate Program at the Modern Music Academy, studying the Berklee curriculum, and later being accepted into Bahçeşehir University's jazz master's program. His album with the quartet, "A New Era Begins" (2025), was named among the year's most acclaimed contemporary jazz releases, and he followed it with "Ambulans Teklisi," a project blending contemporary jazz with alternative hip-hop alongside vocalist Dipnot. Alongside performing and recording, he also teaches drums at his own studio and at Do-Re Müzik.
