Marsis
Marsis is an ethnic rock band formed in Kadikoy, Istanbul in 2005, blending traditional Black Sea music with modern rock elements. Named after Mount Marsis in the Kackar Mountains, the band sings in Turkish alongside Laz, Hemshin and Georgian, creating a distinctive sound that combines the kemenche and tulum with electric guitar and drums. Founded by Korhan Ozyildiz (vocals) and Ceyhun Demir (kemenche), Marsis has released the albums "Marsis" (2009), "Zamani Geldi" (2012) and "Kiana" (2016), bringing Black Sea culture to wide audiences through the language of modern rock.
