Lil Zey (born Zeynep Tanyalçın) is a Turkish rapper, songwriter and DJ known for trap and hip-hop, regarded as one of the most visionary women on the Turkish rap scene for her distinctive husky vocal style and professional music education in the US. Born in İzmir in 1994, she studied music business and songwriting at Berklee College of Music, and after graduating moved to Atlanta, interning at RedZone Entertainment — founded by Grammy-winning producers Tricky Stewart and The-Dream — where she worked as a DJ and A&R assistant. Back in Turkey, she made her name with a guest feature on Metth's album, followed by the duet "Ötede Dur" with KÖK, before releasing her debut album "Kara Tiyatro" with Universal Music in 2021; she also gained international attention with "ELMAS," a track with German rapper Luciano.
