İskender Paydaş
İskender Paydaş is an award-winning Turkish musician, arranger, composer, producer and conductor whose work has shaped the sound of Turkish pop and rock since the 1990s. The son of conductor Muhittin Paydaş, he started playing drums at age three and piano at five, and later enrolled at the Istanbul State Conservatory before dropping out as a teenager, choosing to become a working musician rather than follow a strictly academic path. His career took off in 1986 when he began working with Kayahan, arranging nearly all of the singer's classic songs and accompanying him on accordion at the 1990 Eurovision Song Contest. He produced Mirkelam's landmark 1995 debut album and has collaborated with many of Turkey's biggest pop names, from Ajda Pekkan and Sezen Aksu to Sertab Erener and Şebnem Ferah. With his Zamansız Şarkılar albums in 2011 and 2014, he reimagined some of Turkish music's most enduring hits with modern production.
