Grup Şimşek is a multicultural band formed in 2014 by musicians from Germany, France, the UK and Italy, fronted by vocalist Derya Yıldırım. Drawing inspiration from Anatolian rock pioneers like Selda Bağcan, Barış Manço and Moğollar, they blend 1970s Turkish psychedelic rock with modern groove, funk and jazz. Following their 2017 EP Nem Kaldı, they released the albums Kar Yağar, Dost 1, Dost 2 and, on Big Crown Records, Yarın Yoksa (2024), building a wide following on the global alternative music scene.
