Fikri Karayel is a Turkish Cypriot rock and pop artist, lyricist and composer known for his naive style and deeply personal lyrics. Born in Güzelyurt in 1987, he studied biochemistry at Kingston University in London while singing lead vocals in various bands there. His breakthrough came when his self-penned song "Şehit" topped the Cyprus charts and caught the attention of Haluk Levent, leading him into a professional music career; his 2015 debut album Zor Zamanlar included "Hayal Edemezsin," which reached wider audiences after being featured in the TV series Ufak Tefek Cinayetler.
