Elina Duni
Elina Duni is a world-renowned Swiss-Albanian jazz singer and composer known for blending traditional Balkan and Albanian folk music with modern jazz. Born in Tirana, Albania in 1981, she first stepped on stage at age 5; after the fall of the communist regime, she moved to Geneva, Switzerland with her mother in 1992 and later studied voice and composition at Bern University of the Arts. Since 2004 she has returned to her roots, fusing Albanian folk music with jazz, singing not only in Albanian but also French, English and Italian. With the Elina Duni Quartet, she released acclaimed albums including "Matanë Malit" and "Dallëndyshe" on the prestigious label ECM Records, and in recent years has forged a close musical partnership with British guitarist Rob Luft, releasing their joint album "Reaching for the Moon" in 2026.
