Dodan (born Dodan Özer) is a Turkish musician and songwriter known for blending jazz, rock, new age and traditional Kurdish/Anatolian melodies with a powerful, distinctive voice. Born in 1979 in Varto, Muş province, he began his music career in İzmir in 1995 and co-founded the group Dodan Project with Murat Öztürk in 1997. His 2005 album Benav introduced his signature jazz-rock-Kurdish fusion, followed by the albums Şabûn (2010) and Zaman (2020). He became widely known in Turkey after winning the 2016-2017 season of the singing competition O Ses Türkiye, captivating the judges with his rendition of Ali Ekber Çiçek's "Haydar Haydar." He now lives mainly in London.
