DJ Tennis (born Manfredi Romano) is a world-renowned Italian DJ, producer and manager, and founder of Life and Death, one of electronic music's most prestigious independent labels. He studied computer science at the University of Pisa and tour-managed punk bands in his youth, earning the nickname "Tennis" from Saturday parties he played at a tennis club, where he was a semi-professional player. After founding DAZE, Italy's first electronic-music-focused booking agency, and working behind the scenes for years, he only launched his own DJ project in 2010 at age 40. Blending techno, house and Italo disco with his post-rock and punk roots, DJ Tennis plays massive festivals like Coachella and Sónar and clubs like Circoloco Ibiza and Panorama Bar Berlin, and has also played a major role in launching the careers of artists like Tale of Us and Mind Against.
