Çağrı Sertel
Çağrı Sertel is one of the most important pianists, composers, arrangers and producers on Turkey's recent jazz scene, known for a distinctive style blending jazz with electronic, R&B and ambient textures. Born in Safranbolu in 1983, he began piano at 12 and earned a full scholarship to Istanbul Bilgi University's music program, where he studied with jazz legends including Aydın Esen and Ricky Ford. Following his 2010 debut album "Newborn," he released "Instant" (2017) and the minimal solo piano project "Kuytu" (2021), and is a founding member of Turkey's beloved collective Sonic Boom. He has collaborated on productions with numerous names spanning pop and jazz, including Alp Ersönmez's "Cereyanlı" album as well as Sertab Erener, Murat Boz and Ceylan Ertem.
